I’ve been out and about as usual on the look out for girly things to see, shop, sniff!

Perfume Person OR Deodorant Damsel?

Now Iam a Deodorant person. I don’t know about you. Iam not so much of a perfume person. Well one of the reasons being perfumes leave stains on your stuff. Well I’ve had not so nice experiences with perfumes in the past. And if you are always in a rush you don’t want that perfume to leave all pretty patches on your clothes right? Well I definitely do want to have that special perfume and use it on big occasions but deos work for me. The bottles are non breakable. The nozzle is user-friendly (unlike a nozzle of the perfume that I was gifted that came off a bit too soon and now the perfume rests peacefully in the bottle and has become more of a display item lying in my drawer each time I open it) So make the deo user-friendly and all game. Big bottles are cool but breakables are not. Keep breakables at bay for girlie is always at play. I had been meaning to try SURE the one Miss Ghajini Girl Asin has been promoting off late? When you say SURE, it makes you think (I know it’s an irony. It shouldn’t make you think but it should make you feel sure.) But what I mean is that it makes you want to think about the product and how confidently it promotes itself. So I went ahead and got me a SURE roll on. I had no preconceived notions except I thought to myself that this better live upto itself expectations; and I think I can say that am happy with it.

SURE thing!

• It’s non sticky.
• It’s fragrant
• It’s not the over powering fragrance but yet its nice and pleasant something you can wear to work or on a date.
• What’s more the bottle is quite compact so it fits in your sling bag as well as your mobile pouch let alone your big office bag.

Girls like it when you are SURE.

So sure works for me. And what a coincidence! I met a girlie pal of mine today and she too bought the same thing yesterday. Hmm. I think Sure is not just working for me alone. Well girls have a knack of choosing something that promises them stability, a sure shot guarantee, commitment (guys get the message) and I guess Sure does have that promise too in its brand. And it delivers.

What’s in your bag baby? July 12, 2010

You know I wonder what you have in your bag there. Me? Oh I have like tons of stuff, some of it others find useful, some of it they find useless, all of which I find exciting! I do. I thought of all the stuff in my bag when I was passing the security test at Infiniti Mall this morning and it was being scanned. As my bag passed through the belt, I noticed the cop looking at the screen carefully and I felt he was a wee bit amused at all the things he spotted!

Its my bag and it has all the things that I am gonna need and I think am gonna need and there are also things which I almost never need but they are still in it as you never know right? So to give you an idea, there is a mini pink torch which no points for guessing I bought from the train. Gosh! They sell some practical stuff in there.

It’s practical yet its pink- goes in my bag and on girlyhour! It also has all my USB chords entangled with one another, they are inseparable. Then there are 2-3 diaries all of which serve a definite and different purpose ( a post on my diaries later) You are getting the type of stuff am referring to? How about you? What do you carry in your bag? Is it something crazy? Wild? Exciting? Pink? I have to know this. You gotta tell me like now!

Watta Wonder Week!

Yea! It seems that way; I mean the way the week began was with a bang! And I did manage to get my first birthday gift of this year. YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY! There it is, right on top! Running shoes from Reebok! (Ooh that rhymes!) You think they are cool enough? I love them. Well, they are very similar to the DKNY shoes I spotted only more comfortable and cheap. There are pink balloons floating all around me and my face is shining in a baby pink cloud as I write this; there is music and melody in the world; and am the most beautiful girl! Aah. Birthdays have a way of making me all mush 🙂 Coming to the point! Here’s how my monday began!

Chatting. Chaat. Chicks.

An old friend, my first birthday gift, catching up with a girly pal, lots of chatting on the phone with friends, clients, meetings, sincere students doing their homework for a chance. It was a good day or a little better if I may say. I feel nice. Oh! Wait a min. I know what this is about. You know how am always saying about numerology and how all the nos that amount to no.3 are my lucky days – well there you go! Its 12th July! And I know what it was all happy! Its 12. 1 + 2 = 3 = LUCKY ME 🙂

I bought me some bling from the train really gorgeous! Some beads, some fake gold. The joy in the these gold look alikes; well for clumsy, scatter brain sirens like me, all this works perfectly. I can forget it anywhere and not be all guilty. I can scratch it, break it or even throw it away if I please. A girl’s gotta have her choices right? Imagine being stuck with the same old boring gold bangle all the time. Yikes!

I also gobbled down some chatpata chaat for lunch (skipped the meal again! Oops! Iam so dead if family reads this) But what’s life without a little teekha in a day? 🙂

After doing some business in the burbs, I hopped onto a train back home and just when I was about to get off on my destination – station; a friend from the past, from college days appeared with a smiling face! 🙂 I was glowing, gleaming and was delighted to say the least. You know I rarely get to hang and bond with my gal pals as all of them live so far away and I discovered she is right next door and we can totally hang out and dance n shout n go window shopping out n about! Ok, time to rewind a wee bit and pause. Before the friend surfaced in the train appeared yet another exotic – if I may use that word – product! A comb cleaner! 🙂 Now I hate soaking the comb in the mug and going in the sun getting rid of the murk – so this comb cleaner at Rs 10 is god sent.

Monday is looking good and am optimistic that the week will be wonderful too! Here’s wishing you a fun, happy, loving and a beautiful and blessed week ahead. Ok that didnt sound like me at all! Happy raiding the sales! 😉

So keepin it real and girly as usual, I set out to the suburbs from the no to so happening Sobo on weekends (It’s true not much happens on the weekend in Townie Land) Needles to say, I had lots to do.  Attend the s.Oliver store launch at Inorbit Mall (review coming up!) go window shopping with Mommy, bond with mommy, eat chaat with her, just enjoy the rain and the train! Tres Mode Sale!

So I have the best job! I often get to start my day by reviewing malls and merchandise rather than entering cluttered cubicles. And so today was yet another day at the mall and it became even more special as I received a text on my phone saying “Tres Mode” 40% off! I immediately started thinking about the gladiators I lusted at on their window display and the fluorescent green flats….aah! I so needed the latter to brighten up my dull days and dowdy outfits. And somehow I made it to the store, tried a couple of pairs but I knew my eyes were set on that Neon green shoes. I had made up my mind about them a long time ago. There was no looking back. We were meant to be together. Without any guilt or after thought, I decided to take the plunge and thrilled with the 40% off I did it! Yup! I got them! 🙂 Hooopppie! It was definitely a SuperKICKshoestart to my day!

Edgy Evenings: When I shot my mouth off!

While my day kicked off on a good note, the evening had its moments when I decided to be the scatter brain self that I am. Tired and pooped after a hard day of work, I was on the mall crawl again with my darling dearest hubby aka my best friend aka life partner binging on burgers and holding hands and being mall rats et al. At the same time over 30% off my girly brain was preoccupied with work and so were 20% off my fingers which were busy texting away at light speed. I was supposed to share feedback on an employee my publication was hiring and I ended up messaging the feedback to the same person who was being hired instead of the manager. DAMN! Now, thankfully I didnt let myself go in the message and the content was suitable for children and adults alike. BOY! Iam crazyy. But this is certainly not the first time I’ve had a foot in my mouth. There have been several occasions and am supremely confident  that many more will follow.

Got your foot in your mouth? Do some “Damage Control.” While the situation is something that you cant always control, you can fix it by doing some DAMAGE CONTROL! Here’s how.

Shut up. Yup.. Right now. Don’t say anything. Beep!If you have spilled the beans, done the deed, spread the words and the joy with it, its time to zip up and seal your mouth right that minute; before you end up sounding guilty or causing some more harm, stick to the “Silence is golden” adage and you’ll most likely ease through the situation.

Diplomacy Dose. Now if you are someone who can think on their feet and turn a pumpkin into a beautiful Cinderella horse carriage only then should you attempt this one or steer clear completely. Think you can pour some sugar on the bitter banter, well then, good for you! Keep it simple, confident and effortless. Dont sound guilty or you will give it away. Be yourself, keep it real and sound like nothing ever happened and we are good to go! The “fake it” mantra can work here if you believe in it.
