Going to miss the drama! March 31, 2010

I hate it when something or someone we love or like so much goes away. MJ died and the music with him. The FRIENDS comedy ended (although repeats seem like they’ll go on forever) and today I got an sms about DRAMA QUEEN, one of my favourite tiny Bandra stores shutting down. I feel the pain. Iam sad. There is a lump in my throat. It won’t be there anymore when Iam in Bandra next bonding with my babes. I made it a point to visit every time I hit Bandra, although that’s not often. But you know what, I still love their other store Karma Kola and nothing can take away their cool, kitschy, crazy stuff!

While Drama Queen couldn’t sustain the drama, here’s wishing Karma Kola with great KARMA!

Ok this is like so girlie. I know so many girls who love the smell of new books (guys do too) but we girls have the ability to take the obsession to another level. We can go on and on about it. So much so that we can blog about it and there are products about it too. Well am pretty sure, a girl came up with the idea. What do you think? If you have some spare cash, go ahead buy this New Book Smell and tell me whether its really worth it’s  salt; until then am going to sniff around the book store around the corner to get the aroma of a new book.

Radio GAGA

Loyal Listener

I have always been a Radio Girl ! Not just been listening to my fav tunes but also winning big too (I have mentioned about my lucky streak before, havent I;) While earlier I used to listen to Gofm – things changed when it became Radio One and things changed further when FEVER104fm started. I simply loved Divya and Rohini’s show. Even Abhinav was someone I enjoyed listening to. Moreover, it was the kind of music played on their station that got me hooked! (And I have been the loyal listener since then)

Radio makes me happy!

Love to tune into the songs and Rj’s when am travelling or working, helps me unwind, gives me great songs to work out too – and am addicted ! More than the music on my iPod, I prefer the high energy live environment and not knowing what track will be played next!

With Sidhu in the studios!

Well, I won again ! Not just a 1000rs. shopping voucher from Big bazaar but also a chance to host the show live with RJ Sidhu (One of my favourite RJ’s from the current crop) He is so spontaneous, fun, funny, you can’t help but enjoy your post lunch hours and perk them up with his energy and entertainment. So there I was sitting with him – talking all about how Iam a writer  and how I also teach little kids. His producer Himani Kanitkar was also with us and she was a sweetheart all along!  I tell you it was a fabulous experience – and then I met RJ Rishi Kapoor too (You should listen to that line that plays on the station where Ranbir Kapoor says “Yeh mera baap nahin, yeh sab ka baap hai” It’s going to crack you up, I swear! And yes his real name is Rishi Kapoor and he hosts the 5pm to 9pm slot every evening!

What’s your favourite RADIO?

You know what, am going to try and get the audio and share it with you, meanwhile am so excited about this that I can’t wait to hear what you think of Fever104fm? Is that your favourite too? Which station do you listen to and why? Give me all the gyan, girlie is waiting !

You love to flutter those eye lashes and have a lean mean machine body for booty. Your smile has always lit a million hearts (broken some too but that’s ok) and you know you are shining spark! It’s time to let the world know about your talent and rise n shine ! Be a model. Put up a pic on Cheyenne’11 Jewelery’s facebook page wearing their bling and you can get a chance to model for them! Cool eh?

Wear Kareena’s clothes! March 25, 2010

Pic courtesy: www.globus.in

I love discovering places that underrated and discovering a treasure trove of exciting goodies! That’s precisely what happened yesterday. I finished my work and went girly galavanting and I swear (I really do) I had no plans to shop but I ended up (Oopsie!) I went to KalaGhoda and decided to sample the stuff at Globus! Boy! Amongst all the untidy piles and unorganized not so exciting looking racks there is amazing stuff for all us girlies.

Sexy Stuff!

There are beautiful fusion wear kurtis, tunics and even tube tops with doris. There are jumpsuits, beautiful beach wear, comfy knee length skirts in stripes and pastels to gear you up for summer and that’s not all – the customer service spoils you rotten here! They are friendly, helpful (not over bearing) and offer you great assistance when you need colors or sizes or even accessories for your outfit. No wonder Kareena endorses you (I mean Globus) And with Globus around in Sobo I feel like I have a piece of the burbs with me! What’s more, the prices are cheaper than a branded high street store  but a tad expensive than your normal rastewalla retailer or wholesaler but “good quality”. Now what else does a girlwant! I say – go all out and grab the goodies at Globus before the best is sold out!

P.S. Also look out for their head gear, scarfs and bands. A whole lot of choice in various budgets. Suit yourself!

Puma – thongs turn on the heat but that’s about it! March 24, 2010

Puma by Aki Narula

Puma by Aki Narula

Well Puma as a brand has always shown me great promise – but I have to say I wasn’t excited at all after seeing their Spring-Summer collection 2010. Same old. Nothing new. Bags remained the 2008-09 designs whereas the clothes were tees in different colors (well if that works for you go ahead, I expect more from Puma) I was looking out for sleeve less jerseys, clothes that I can cool off in during summer. Something more interesting, more innovative.

Terrific Thongs!

What I do love is their thong slippers in fun n flourescent shades priced at a modest 1500/- (For Puma its modest) These are bright screaming strappy flat beach slippers (And I was looking for a pair! It’s a sign)

Go ahead Puma, surprize me with your next collection, prove me wrong and make me get loads of you home once again! You will always have that special place in my wardrobe!
