Collection@Muah Store, Palladium
I know its been a while since I got to the girly space but yes I have reasons and they have been mostly work related (I hate saying I was busy due to work – what’s the big deal! The whole world is working yet no body got as rich as Paris Hilton. That chick is seriously lucky! Some super karma behind that one) Well I have been doing a lot of shopping lately (Sssshhh) yes many dont know about it and yet others aren’t suppose to know – because its for someone’s 30th surprize birthday party and I kinda have something uber special I have in mind. So I have been out sourcing for gifts and goodies and I must say “I’ve been places” and have discovered some delightful stuff ! (And that stuff has nothing to do with the bithday shopping I was supposed to be doing) I was recently at the Palladium at Phoenix and almost all the stores have some awesome new clothes in stock but wait a min now all of us don’t have big paychecks coming at the end of the month, rest of us are battling with Bihhhig credit card bills and some of us don’t work and still survive on bits of pocket money! So what does a girl do when she doesnt get to do what she really wants to do (Shopping DUH) She finds an alternative shopping place ! 🙂
Girl Charm !
Yea – girls have their way of getting around (the girly charm) I have been out and looking and I have come with a list of places where girls can get the latest loves of their lives (clothes n shoes n bling) and yet feel like a queen at the end of the month (no bank breaking needed)
– FASHION STREET ! Yea there’s no AC and all that. But you have the style the chic and the fun fashion outfits you see in MUAH at Palladium or any other high street or mall store. From jumpsuits to vests to mini skirts to dress you up for summer – it’s all happening at Fashion street and Linking Road Bandra. Don your summer cap, put on those glares, dab on the sunscreen and head out to bring out the best bargain babe in you!
Lokhandwala Complex, Andheri West! One street I tell you, it’s all happening from Rhythm Restaurant at the beginning right down to Golmaal boutique near Green Acres. Shimmer is a boutique you wanna look out for non-pushy but “know it all” GUJU sales man – who you will be surprized but are aware of more fashion fundas than you are! (Trust me they have a pulse on what you wear and what you are there for) Some of my sexist vacation vow clothes are from Shimmer.
Linking Road, Bandra. Ok this was like the most happening place at one time to shop! Guess what? It still is. While Bandra maybe housing high end stores and designer creations, the street still rocks. The roadside stuff stacked at stalls (may have minor defects) but looks as good as the expensive vest from Espirit. Yea it does! Why splurge when you can fulfil; the urge in a few hundred bucks? Scout all around Mcdonalds and Magnet mall, visit each small shop in the rows of shoe shops and you will come back with bags full of shoes with each priced at as little as Rs 350/- (and these are chic stylish shoes I tell you) So go ahead, grab a big bag, a friend who has super bargaining skills or one that needs to sharpen them and viola! We have a brand new wardrobe but we are still penny wise people!
Bombay Electric, Colaba
Colaba “Cause” way! Truly meets the girl”cause”. I mean what does it not have from Bombay Electrics to mere basics from Rs 250 gladiators to Rs 25ooo ones – you have the entire gamut. While the rich keeps getting richer, the poor needn’t get poorer here. So you really thought some of the most fashionable people paid a heavy price to create their look? Naah. Artist and painter Payal Khandwala who always manage to turn out like a PYT gets her every bit from clothes to accessories from Colaba Causeway ! Inspiring eh? I am a self-confessed Colaba Chick! who eyes and buys and it never hurts. From street bling to boots from the road side to tees, bags and stoles and whole lotta other stuff – its all laid out from morning to almost midnight!
Poor chica turns rich girl!
So you may not have the ac and the instrumental Kenny G, you will have to give up the ever smiling and ready to help sophisticated looking sales staff but what you have is that extra money saved up in your bank account every month when you indulge in bargain shopping and with that extra dough – do you what you like, you earned it ! 🙂
P.S. Can’t seem to imagine yourself bagging the goodies at towering glass malls with high ceilings and fat price tags! Ditch the chic, get hold of the charm instead ! Stay hi on fashion and hold on to the moolah too. More power to you ! Go girly Go !
